## Key takeaways

- A GEO tool shows whether AI assistants name your hotel when travelers ask where to stay, which competitors they pick instead and which sources they rely on.
- Hikoo ranks first because it pairs tracking on up to 9 AI engines with prepared fixes, content suggestions and outreach to the sources AI cites, from a free plan to €499 per month excl. VAT.
- Hotelrank, now part of Lighthouse, is the most hotel-specific tracker and shows whether AI answers link to your site or to OTAs, from €58 per hotel per month on annual billing.
- Peec AI, Profound, Otterly.AI and Semrush are general AI visibility tools that work for hotel groups and agencies, and HotelMarketer.ai is a managed setup for independents.
- The stakes are rising. Deloitte measured generative AI use for travel planning at 25% in its 2026 US survey, up from 15%, and hotel booking is rolling out inside Google AI Mode in the US.

The best GEO tools for hotels in 2026 are Hikoo, Hotelrank by Lighthouse, Peec AI, Profound, Otterly.AI, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and HotelMarketer.ai. They show whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google AI Mode recommend your hotel when travelers ask where to stay, which rivals they pick instead and which sources they trust.

We compared seven AI visibility tools on what they track for a hotel, what they help you fix and what they cost, with prices checked on each vendor's site on October 28, 2026.

Disclosure: the author runs Hikoo, ranked first in this list.

### 1. Hikoo

Hikoo ranks first because it covers measurement and action in one tool, from the questions guests ask to the page fixes and outreach that change the answer. A single hotel can start free and move to Growth when it needs Perplexity, Copilot and source analysis.

- Best for: Hotels and travel brands that want to be recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and get the fixes prepared
- Price: Free plan, then from €69 per month excl. VAT (Monitoring), €179 (Growth) and €499 (Agent) (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Tracks the questions travelers ask, the hotels named and the sources cited, on up to 9 engines including Google AI Overviews and AI Mode (Agent plan); Content suggestions on every paid plan, plus page fixes prepared for you and an outreach agent that pitches the sources AI cites on the Agent plan; Free plan with 10 questions on ChatGPT, and a 7-day free trial with no card on Monitoring and Growth; AI visibility audit, llms.txt generator and citation tracking on every plan, plus an MCP server
- Limits: Only the Agent plan covers all 9 engines, Monitoring tracks ChatGPT and Gemini; One subscription covers one site, so a group with one website per hotel needs several; Younger company than the SEO incumbents, and entry plans track fewer questions than enterprise tools
- URL: https://www.tryhikoo.com/en/

### 2. Hotelrank by Lighthouse

Hotelrank is the most hotel-specific tracker in this list, and its direct versus OTA link view answers a question generic tools skip. Plan your own content and outreach work alongside it.

- Best for: Independent hotels and hotel groups that want a hotel-specific view of their AI rankings against a comp set
- Price: €69 per hotel per month (Essential, monthly) or €58 on annual billing, Pro at €199 or €166, Enterprise on quote (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Built only for hotels, with traveler personas, competitor tracking and perception scores on location, service, value and cleanliness; Shows whether AI answers send travelers to your direct site or to OTAs; Acquired by Lighthouse (formerly OTA Insight) in May 2026 to add measurement to its Connect AI product; 7-day free trial and 7-day money-back guarantee on Essential and Pro
- Limits: Essential tracks ChatGPT and Gemini only, wider model coverage starts with Pro; Priced per hotel, so the bill grows with every property in a group
- URL: https://hotelrank.ai/

### 3. Peec AI

Peec AI is a clean analytics layer for a marketing team that already knows what to do with the data. Hotels that need help acting on it will want a tool that prepares the work.

- Best for: Marketing teams at hotel groups and travel brands that want daily AI search analytics
- Price: Starter €85, Pro €205 and Advanced €425 per month (50, 150 and 350 prompts), Enterprise on quote (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Tracks visibility, position and sentiment in AI answers, with the key sources behind them; Three models to choose per plan among ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot and Naver AI, up to 13 on Enterprise; Used by 3,500+ brands and agencies, according to Peec AI
- Limits: Three tracked models on every self-serve plan, and several countries only from Advanced; General brand analytics, with no hotel-specific view such as direct versus OTA links
- URL: https://peec.ai/

### 4. Profound

Profound is the enterprise reference for AI visibility, with the widest engine coverage and data on what people ask. It fits a hotel group with an in-house search team, not an independent property.

- Best for: Large hotel groups and travel brands with enterprise budgets and a dedicated search team
- Price: Free 7-day trial (50 prompts), then Enterprise on quote (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Enterprise covers up to 9 answer engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and AI Overviews; Agent Analytics shows how AI bots crawl, cite and refer to your pages; Prompt Volumes analyzes real user conversations to show what people ask; Unlimited seats, SSO and SOC 2 compliance on Enterprise
- Limits: No public price beyond the trial, Enterprise is quoted after a demo; Sized for large teams, which is more than a single hotel needs
- URL: https://www.tryprofound.com/

### 5. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI is the cheapest way to start monitoring AI answers about your hotel. Add Gemini and AI Mode if your guests use Google, since they are not in the base plans.

- Best for: Small hotels, agencies and marketers who want low-cost monitoring to get started
- Price: From $29 per month (Lite, 15 prompts), $189 (Standard) and $489 (Premium), excl. tax (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on every plan; Lowest entry price in this list, with a free trial and no card required; Named a Gartner Cool Vendor in AI for Marketing in 2025, according to Otterly.AI
- Limits: Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons, from $9 per month on Lite; Lite tracks 15 prompts, enough for a first check but thin for a hotel with several guest segments
- URL: https://otterly.ai/

### 6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

The toolkit is the convenient choice for a team that already runs SEO in Semrush. Its engine coverage is narrower than the specialists in this list.

- Best for: Hotel marketing teams and agencies that already work in Semrush
- Price: $99 per month (one domain, 25 tracked prompts) (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Tracks brand performance and prompts in ChatGPT and Google AI Mode; 300 daily queries in AI Analysis reports and 1,000 in Prompt Research; AI Search checks in Site Audit for up to 100 pages; Semrush is now part of Adobe, which completed the acquisition in April 2026
- Limits: No free trial on the toolkit; Each extra domain costs $99 per month, which adds up for a group with one site per hotel
- URL: https://www.semrush.com/

### 7. HotelMarketer.ai

HotelMarketer.ai suits an owner who wants the technical groundwork done without learning a new tool. Hotels that want to follow competitors and sources week by week will need a tracker as well.

- Best for: Independent hotels that want llms.txt and structured data set up for them, with a monthly score
- Price: €69 per hotel per month (monthly), €384 for 6 months or €708 for 12 months prepaid (checked on 2026-10-28)
- Strengths: Adds an llms.txt file and Schema.org data to the hotel website through a connector script; Monthly GEO dashboard with technical, content and AI accuracy scores; Checks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok and Mistral describe the hotel; Free AI visibility scan, and no contract on the monthly plan
- Limits: Run by a hotel marketing agency in Amsterdam (Guest & Co), so it works more like a managed service than a self-serve analytics tool; Monthly reporting rather than daily tracking
- URL: https://www.hotelmarketer.ai/
## How we compared these GEO tools for hotels

We judged each tool on how useful it is to a hotel, not on the length of its feature list. Facts come from vendor websites, pricing pages and press coverage listed in the sources, and we did not run paid tests on a live property.

- **Engines that matter for travel.** ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode first, then Perplexity, Copilot and Claude.
- **Hotel relevance.** Traveler-style questions, a competitive set of nearby hotels and, ideally, whether AI links to your site or to an OTA.
- **Sources.** Whether the tool shows which pages AI cites, such as OTAs, review sites and travel guides.
- **Action.** Whether it stops at a dashboard or prepares fixes, content and outreach.
- **Price per property.** Public price, free plan or trial, and how cost grows for a group.

## Why do hotels need an AI visibility tool in 2026?

Because a growing share of trip planning now happens inside AI assistants, and they name only a handful of hotels per answer. If yours is not one of them, the guest may never reach your booking engine.

Deloitte's [2026 summer travel survey](https://www.deloitte.com/us/en/about/press-room/deloitte-as-rising-costs-slow-summer-travel-to-six-year-low-travelers-plan-to-spend-more.html) found that adoption of generative AI to plan travel reached 25% in 2026, up from 15% in 2025. Millennials were the most likely to plan with it, at 36%.

Booking is moving into the same screens. Booking.com and Expedia were among the first [apps inside ChatGPT](https://openai.com/index/introducing-apps-in-chatgpt/) in October 2025. In August 2026, Google started rolling out [hotel booking in AI Mode](https://techcrunch.com/2026/08/27/googles-ai-mode-can-now-track-flight-prices-help-book-hotels-and-more/) in the US, with Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, IHG, Marriott, Wyndham and others as partners. Hotel chains are building their own entry points as well, and [Hotel Dive](https://www.hoteldive.com/news/artificial-intelligence-mainstream-travel-planning-tool/826002/) reported IHG's ChatGPT app in June 2026.

For an independent hotel, the risk is double. The assistant may recommend a competitor, or it may recommend you through an OTA link that costs a commission. That is why the direct versus OTA view in Hotelrank and the source analysis in Hikoo matter for this sector.

## What should a hotel track in ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode?

Track the questions your guests actually ask, the hotels named in the answers, the links given and the sources behind them. Brand mentions alone tell you little.

- **Traveler questions.** "Quiet boutique hotel near the old town with parking", "family hotel with a pool near the beach", "hotel near the convention center for a business trip". Build them from your booking data and guest segments.
- **Your comp set.** The same nearby hotels you watch in your revenue reports.
- **Position and description.** Whether you appear first or fifth, and whether the assistant gets your amenities, location and price range right. HotelMarketer.ai calls this an AI accuracy score.
- **Links.** Your website, an OTA, or no link at all.
- **Sources.** Review platforms, OTAs, travel media and local guides that the assistant cites. These are the pages worth fixing or pitching.

## How do AI assistants pick which hotels to recommend?

AI assistants build answers from web search results, their own training data and the sources they retrieve, so the basics of search still apply. Google says there is [no special optimization](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features) needed for AI Overviews or AI Mode, and lists keeping your Business Profile up to date among the practices that count.

Google also explains that both features may use "query fan-out", running several related searches across subtopics and data sources to build one answer. A question about a family hotel can trigger searches about pools, beaches and parking, so pages that answer those sub-questions clearly have more chances to be used.

On the OpenAI side, sites that block OAI-SearchBot are not shown in ChatGPT search answers, [according to OpenAI](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots). Check your robots.txt before anything else.

The rest is content and reputation. Describe rooms, amenities, policies and the neighbourhood in plain text on your own site, keep facts consistent across OTAs and listings, and earn mentions in the guides and reviews that assistants cite. A GEO tool tells you which of those pages carry the most weight for your questions.

## Which GEO tool fits your hotel?

Match the tool to your size and to who will act on the data. A single independent needs a low entry price and clear next steps, while a group needs coverage, many questions and reporting.

- **One independent hotel.** Start with [Hikoo's free audit](https://www.tryhikoo.com/en/tools/free-audit/) or its Free plan, then Monitoring at €69 or Growth at €179 per month. Hotelrank Essential (€58 to €69 per month) gives a hotel-specific view, and HotelMarketer.ai suits owners who want the setup done for them.
- **A hotel group.** Hikoo Agent covers 200 questions, 9 engines and 20 competitors per site, with fixes and outreach prepared. Profound Enterprise and Peec AI fit groups with an in-house search team.
- **An agency or a team on Semrush.** The Semrush toolkit adds AI tracking at $99 per domain, and Otterly.AI starts at $29 per month. If you already use Peec AI or Otterly.AI, Hikoo can connect to them.

Count your websites before you compare. Hikoo prices per site, Semrush per domain and Hotelrank per hotel, so a group with one site per property should multiply. See [Hikoo pricing](https://www.tryhikoo.com/en/pricing/) for the plan limits.

## How can you check your hotel's AI visibility for free?

You can run a first check without paying. Use a free audit, then confirm by hand with the questions your guests ask.

- **Hikoo free audit.** The [free AI visibility audit](https://www.tryhikoo.com/en/tools/free-audit/) checks how AI engines read and cite your site.
- **Operto GEO Consultant.** Launched in March 2026, it scans a hotel's AI visibility against its direct competitors for free, according to [Hotel Dive](https://www.hoteldive.com/news/hotel-geo-tool-ai-visibility-search/818540/).
- **A manual test.** Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity ten questions a guest would ask, in a logged-out window, and note which hotels are named and where the links point.

A manual test is a snapshot. Answers vary by day, phrasing and location, which is why the tools above repeat the same questions on a schedule and track the trend.

If your website and your PMS data disagree on rooms, rates or amenities, fix that first. Our [hotel PMS comparison](/en/best-hotel-pms) and [RevPAR guide](/en/revpar) cover the operational side.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is GEO for hotels?

GEO, or generative engine optimization, is the work of getting your hotel named and linked in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode. It covers what AI assistants say about your property, which competitors they recommend instead and which sources they trust. A GEO tool measures this and shows what to change.

### Which AI assistants matter most for hotels?

ChatGPT and Google matter most today. Booking.com and Expedia have run apps inside ChatGPT since October 2025, and Google started rolling out hotel booking inside AI Mode in the US in August 2026 with partners such as Hilton, IHG and Marriott. Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot complete the picture, depending on your guests.

### Can a small independent hotel afford a GEO tool?

Yes. Hikoo has a free plan with 10 questions on ChatGPT, Otterly.AI starts at $29 per month and Hotelrank at €58 per hotel per month on annual billing. A free audit is a sensible first step before paying for anything.

### How is GEO different from hotel SEO?

SEO aims at a ranking in a list of links, while GEO aims at being named inside a written answer. The two overlap, since Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode rely on the same search fundamentals and an up-to-date Business Profile. GEO adds new checks, such as what the assistant says about you and which third-party pages it cites.

### Does a GEO tool guarantee my hotel will be recommended?

No. AI answers change from one question and one day to the next, and no vendor controls them. A good tool shows where you stand, why competitors are picked and which fixes are most likely to help, then measures whether they worked.
