Best hotel channel managers in 2026, 8 tools compared
Eight channel managers compared on fit, connectivity, contract terms and price, from SiteMinder and D-EDGE to low-cost tools for small hotels. Every price was checked on the vendor's own site on October 30, 2026.

SiteMinder is the best hotel channel manager in 2026 for most independent hotels, with 500+ connected channels and a public starting price. D-EDGE fits upscale hotels and groups in Europe, Cloudbeds fits properties that want the channel manager built into their PMS, and Beds24 or Elloha cost the least for small properties.
We compared eight channel managers on fit by property type, connectivity, contract terms and price transparency. Every price below was checked on the vendor's own website on October 30, 2026. "On quote" means the vendor publishes no figure, and we did not run paid trials on a live hotel.
Hotel distribution key figures 2026

- No. 1SiteMinder
SiteMinder
Best forIndependent hotels and groups that want a very large channel network on a short contract
PriceFrom €95 per month (SiteMinder) or €119 (SiteMinder Plus), starting price for a 5-room property, per property, excluding tax; groups and chains on quote (checked on October 30, 2026)
Strengths
- 500+ booking channels and 56,000+ properties, according to SiteMinder

- 14-day free trial, and independent plans can run month to month with 30 days' written notice
- SiteMinder Plus adds a booking engine, metasearch advertising, a website builder and rate parity checks
Limits
- Hotel payments carry a per-payment fee and the channel marketplace a commission on completed stays
- Premium PMS connections such as Opera OXI and OHIP cost extra

VerdictSiteMinder pairs one of the largest channel networks with a published starting price, which few rivals show. Ask for the payment fees and any PMS connection fee in the same written quote.

Limits
- No figure on the pricing page, every plan needs a quote

How we compared these channel managers
We ranked each tool on how well it serves the properties it targets, not on the length of its channel list. The facts come from vendor websites, pricing pages and public announcements listed in the sources.
The criteria:
- Fit by property type, from a 6-room B&B to a multi-brand group.
- Connectivity, meaning the channels and PMS connections each vendor lists and whether its OTA links are two-way.
- Inventory control, such as pooled inventory, per-channel rate rules and stop-sells.
- Contract and price, with a public price or a quote, usage fees, notice periods and free trials.
- Support, including languages and local teams.
What is a channel manager?
A channel manager is software that sends a hotel's rates, availability and restrictions to every connected booking site from one screen, then brings the reservations back. When a room sells on Booking.com, it lowers the stock on Expedia, Airbnb, the hotel website and every other channel without anyone touching an extranet. Beds24 explains the mechanism with a B&B of 9 double rooms: the system exports an inventory of 9 to the channels and the website, and after one booking it sends 8 everywhere. Most channel managers also connect to the property management system, so the reservation lands at the front desk without retyping. The quality of each connection matters. A one-way link only pushes rates out, while a two-way XML or API connection also pulls in bookings, changes and cancellations. Beds24 lists two-way XML connections with Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo, Agoda and Hostelworld, and STAAH describes two-way, real-time updates between its channels and the PMS.
Do you need a channel manager if most of your bookings are direct?
Yes, if you sell on two or more OTAs. The work comes from keeping every extranet in line, whatever share of bookings each one brings.
Direct channels generated 51.3% of overnights in European hotels in 2025 and OTAs 29.9%, up from 19.7% in 2013, according to the European Hotel Distribution Study 2026 published in September 2026 by HOTREC and HES-SO Valais-Wallis (weighted European estimates without chain data, 2,713 hotels surveyed). That OTA share sits with very few companies. Among the 1,591 hotels that reported their OTA mix, Booking Holdings took 68.8% of OTA bookings, Booking.com alone 66.1%, and Booking Holdings and Expedia Group together 85.4%. A typical European hotel therefore deals with two large platform groups plus a tail of regional OTAs, wholesalers and the GDS. That tail is where a channel manager saves the most hours, because each extra site is one more extranet to update by hand, and one more place where a stale rate or a missed closure can sell a room twice.

The same survey found that 66% of hotels keep their rates and availability current through a channel manager, 32% through an interface in their PMS or CRS and 23% still by hand (HOTREC 2026, pages 133 to 136). Manual updating is most common in hotels under 30 rooms, in 1- to 3-star hotels and in small towns and rural areas.
The volume flowing through the two big groups keeps rising. Booking Holdings reported 325 million room nights booked in the second quarter of 2026, 5% more than a year earlier (Booking Holdings, Q2 2026 results, August 4, 2026). Expedia Group reported 111.5 million booked room nights in the same quarter, up 6% from 105.5 million (Expedia Group, Q2 2026 results, August 5, 2026).
How much does a hotel channel manager cost in 2026?
Published prices run from about €15 a month for a very small property on Beds24 to €95 a month and more on SiteMinder, and four of the eight vendors only sell on quote. The subscription is rarely the whole bill.
| Channel manager | Published price, checked 2026-10-30 | Unit and period | Billed on top |
|---|---|---|---|
| SiteMinder | From €95 (SiteMinder) or €119 (Plus) | Per property per month, 5-room starting price, excl. tax | Payment fees, marketplace commission, Opera OXI or OHIP connection |
| Elloha | €49 (Connect) or €59 (Magic) per month | €548 or €628 a year on annual billing | VAT treatment not stated |
| Beds24 | From €15.50, plus €0.55 per channel link | Per month, pay as you go | Onboarding from €79, SMS at €0.10 |
| Channex | $130 platform fee plus $7 per hotel | Per month, excl. VAT | $1 a month per duplicate channel connection |
| D-EDGE, Cloudbeds, STAAH, Reservit | On quote |

SiteMinder's pricing page shows prices in the visitor's currency. Seen from France on October 30, 2026, it listed €95 per month for SiteMinder and €119 for SiteMinder Plus, as a starting price for a 5-room property, charged per property and excluding tax. Hotel payments add a fee per payment, and the channel marketplace takes a commission on completed stays.
Beds24 publishes a calculator for its own pricing. We entered a 20-room hotel with 4 room types sold on 3 OTAs, and it returned €12.90 for the base account, €52.00 for the rooms and €6.60 for the channel links, or €71.50 a month (Beds24 pricing). The links line is 4 room types times 3 channels, so 12 links at €0.55 each.

For groups with their own software, Channex publishes a full price list. A 10-hotel group would pay $130 plus 10 times $7, so $200 a month before VAT, calculated from that list. The per-hotel fee drops to $4 from 2,000 properties.
Distribution costs also come out of room revenue. Our RevPAR guide explains net RevPAR, which deducts commissions and other distribution costs before dividing by the rooms available.
Which channel manager for a small hotel or B&B?
For a property under about 30 rooms, pick a tool with a public price, no long contract and connections to the OTAs you already use. Beds24, Elloha and SiteMinder's entry plan fit that brief.
Elloha's Connect plan costs €49 a month with 60+ accommodation OTAs, a booking engine and a mobile app, and its 21-day trial needs no card. Beds24 charges per room and per link, with no contract and a free trial. SiteMinder gives 14 days free and lets independents cancel a month-to-month plan with 30 days' written notice.
In France, Reservit has developed booking software for hotels, B&Bs and campsites in France since 1999 and gives each client a dedicated French-speaking contact, but it only quotes after a demo.
If you are also changing PMS, an all-in-one system can replace both tools. Our hotel PMS comparison covers RoomRaccoon, eviivo and Amenitiz, which include a channel manager in the same contract. Cloudbeds, which says 20,000+ properties use its platform (Cloudbeds), includes its channel manager in the One plan (Cloudbeds pricing).
Which channel manager for a hotel group or chain?
Groups should put central inventory, CRS and GDS connectivity and certified PMS interfaces first. D-EDGE, SiteMinder's Groups and Chains plan and STAAH are built for that, and Channex suits groups that run their own software.
D-EDGE combines the channel manager with a CRS, a booking engine and a central inventory, and says it serves 17,000 customers with support in 20 languages (D-EDGE, about us). Its channel pools let a revenue manager raise or lower prices on a whole group of channels in one click.
STAAH says it works with 450+ groups and chains and 30,000+ properties in 90 countries (STAAH). It was founded in New Zealand in 2008 and joined The Access Group in December 2024. SiteMinder sells a Groups and Chains plan on quote, with portfolio reporting, a distribution audit and a PMS or CRS connection.
What should you check before signing a channel manager contract?
Get five answers in writing before you sign. A low subscription with the wrong PMS interface or high usage fees ends up costing more.
- List your channels and room types, then confirm that each OTA connection is two-way and certified by the OTA.
- Check the PMS connection and its price. SiteMinder includes the connection to 450+ PMS but charges extra for Opera OXI and OHIP.
- Ask for every usage fee: payment processing, marketplace or metasearch commissions and duplicate connections, which Channex bills at $1 a month each.
- Check the term and the notice period, from 30 days at SiteMinder to pay as you go at Beds24.
- Ask who maps the rooms and rates. SiteMinder says setup takes from 24 hours to 14 days, and Beds24 sells personal onboarding from €79.
Can a channel manager stop OTA undercutting and multi-sourcing?
Only in part. It keeps your own rates consistent across channels, but it cannot stop an OTA from discounting your room or reselling it through another site.
In HOTREC's European Hotel Distribution Study 2026, 51% of European hotels reported OTA undercutting at least occasionally, up from 43% in 2023, and 44% said OTAs resell their rates and availability through other OTAs or third parties (HOTREC 2026, pages 105 and 114). Hotels linked this multi-sourcing to guest confusion, wrong room descriptions, billing problems and overbookings. A channel manager only controls what you send to each channel, but some tools give you more say over it. SiteMinder Plus includes rate parity tools, Reservit can apply a markup per channel and close a channel below an availability threshold, and D-EDGE groups channels into pools. HOTREC also found that 58% of hotels have a permanent interface to a metasearch engine such as Google Hotel Ads, which puts the direct rate next to the OTA offers.
Start with a list of your channels, room types and PMS, and ask two vendors for a quote on that same basis. A small property can run the Beds24 calculator or start Elloha's trial in an afternoon. A group should ask D-EDGE and SiteMinder for a quote that spells out the PMS connection and payment fees.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best channel manager for hotels in 2026?
SiteMinder is the best all-round choice for independent hotels, D-EDGE fits upscale hotels and groups in Europe and Cloudbeds fits properties that also need a PMS. Beds24 and Elloha are the cheapest options for small properties. The right pick depends on the OTAs you sell on, your PMS and how much you want bundled.
Is there a free channel manager for hotels?
None of the eight tools we compared is free for a live hotel. SiteMinder offers a 14-day free trial, Elloha 21 days without a card and Beds24 a free trial without a credit card. Channex gives developers a free staging server to test its API.
Do channel managers take a commission on bookings?
Most charge a subscription rather than a commission, and Beds24, Cloudbeds and STAAH say they add no commission on channel bookings. Some products bill per use, such as SiteMinder's channel marketplace, which takes a commission on completed stays. The OTAs still charge their own commission on every booking they bring.
What is the difference between a channel manager and a booking engine?
A booking engine takes reservations on your own website, so the guest books with you directly. A channel manager sends your rates and availability to third-party sites such as Booking.com and Expedia. SiteMinder Plus, Elloha, Reservit and Beds24 sell both in one package.
Does a channel manager stop overbookings completely?
It removes most of the risk, because every booking lowers the shared inventory on all connected channels. Overbookings can still happen when someone changes an OTA extranet by hand or when an OTA resells your rooms through another site. HOTREC lists overbookings among the problems hotels link to OTA multi-sourcing.
Can I switch channel manager without losing bookings?
Yes, if you plan the cut-over. Map every room type and rate plan in the new tool, connect the OTAs, then disconnect the old tool on the same day so two systems never update the same extranet. Check your notice period first, for example 30 days at SiteMinder on a month-to-month plan.
